LED REBATES
Tampa Electric
Tampa Electric offers a cash rebate for commercial and industrial customers replacing their
existing interior lights with energy-efficient fluorescent lighting systems. Tampa Electric will send a qualified
lighting engineer to inspect the facility and make recommendations. Once installed, the facility will earn $0.15
for every watt reduced. Commercial/Industrial customers must achieve a minimum lighting reduction of 1,000 watts
within conditioned spaces to be eligible.
Tampa Electric also offers incentives to businesses for reducing their load during
peak hours through their Conservation Value Program.
Lighting Standards
ASHRAE Standards for
Lighting Power Density
These are ASHRAE-90.1 - 2001 and 2004 Values
The number is the maximum allowed lighting wattage per square foot
For example: A 4,000 square foot library
space must consume no more than 1.3 x 4000 = 5,200 watts for lighting (using the 2004 standard). Building
made for compliance with the 2001 standard are allowed 1.5 x 4000 = 6,000 watts.
